SBI PO 2026 Eligibility
- Graduation in any discipline. Final-year students could apply if they show proof of passing by 30 September 2026 when called for interview.
- Age 21 to 30 years on 1 April 2026 (born between 2 April 1996 and 1 April 2005). OBC get 3 extra years, SC/ST 5 and PwBD 10 (13 for PwBD-OBC, 15 for PwBD-SC/ST).
- Limited attempts: 6 for UR/EWS, 9 for OBC and PwBD (UR/EWS/OBC), no limit for SC/ST. Only appearing in the main exam counts as an attempt.
- Selected officers can be posted anywhere in India.
SBI PO 2026 Selection Process
- Phase I, prelims: 100 questions for 100 marks in 1 hour; about 10 times the vacancies in each category go to the mains.
- Phase II, mains: objective test (170 questions, 200 marks, 3 hours) plus a 30-mark descriptive test; each section needs a minimum score.
- Phase III: psychometric test, group exercise and interview (50 marks).
- Final merit: mains converted to 75 and Phase III to 25, out of 100.

The prelims is a one-hour test of 100 questions: 40 English, 30 quantitative aptitude and 30 reasoning, with 20 minutes per section and no sectional cut-off. The mains has an objective test of 170 questions for 200 marks in three hours, covering reasoning and computer aptitude, data analysis and interpretation, general awareness and banking, and English. Right after it comes a 30-minute descriptive test worth 30 marks, typed on the computer.
Interview and final merit list
Candidates who clear the mains, including the cut-off in each section, take a psychometric test, a group exercise and an interview worth 50 marks together. For the final list, the 230 mains marks are converted to 75 and the 50 Phase III marks to 25, giving a total out of 100. Prelims marks are used only for shortlisting.
