IBPS RRB 2026 Eligibility
- Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I: a bachelor's degree in any discipline, plus proficiency in the local language of the RRB you apply for. Working knowledge of computers is desirable.
- Officer Scale-II and III: a relevant degree and banking experience as set out post-wise in the notice.
- Age on 1 September 2026: Office Assistant 18 to 28, Officer Scale-I 18 to 30, Officer Scale-II 21 to 32, Officer Scale-III 21 to 40.
- Upper age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 for OBC (non-creamy layer) and 10 for PwBD.
- For Officer Scale-I, preference goes to degrees in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, IT, management, law, economics or accountancy.
IBPS RRB 2026 Selection Process
- Preliminary exam (Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I): 80 questions for 80 marks in 45 minutes; each of the two sections must be cleared.
- Main exam (Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I) or single-level exam (Officer Scale II and III): 200 questions for 200 marks in 120 minutes for Office Assistant and Scale-I.
- Interview for Officers only: 100 marks, minimum 40% (35% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD); exam and interview weighted 80:20.
- Provisional allotment to an RRB on merit and preference, based on the vacancies the banks report.

How to Apply for IBPS RRB 2026
- Register on ibps.in under CRP RRBs-XV with a valid personal e-mail ID that you keep active until the results.
- Upload your photo, signature, left thumb impression, a handwritten declaration in English in your own handwriting, and your Class 10 certificate.
- Choose the post(s), the state and RRB, and your language of exam.
- Pay the fee online: ₹175 for SC, ST and PwBD (and ESM/DESM for Office Assistant), ₹850 for everyone else, including GST.
- Registration closed on 27 September 2026. IBPS allows edits for 2 days after closure; after that no change is possible.

IBPS RRB 2026 vacancies post-wise
The notice lists 13,706 indicative vacancies across 28 Regional Rural Banks. Office Assistants (Multipurpose) have 8,183 posts and Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager) 4,256. Officer Scale-II has 1,047 posts, most of them General Banking Officers (666) plus IT, CA, law, treasury, marketing and agriculture officers, and Officer Scale-III has 220. IBPS says these numbers are indicative and allotment follows the vacancies the banks actually report.
Age limit for Office Assistant and Officers
Age is counted on 1 September 2026. Office Assistants must be 18 to 28, Officer Scale-I candidates 18 to 30, Scale-II candidates 21 to 32 and Scale-III candidates 21 to 40. These limits are for General and EWS candidates; SC/ST candidates get 5 extra years, OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 and PwBD 10.
Qualification and local language
For Office Assistant and Officer Scale-I a bachelor's degree in any discipline is enough, but you must be proficient in the local language of the RRB you choose, and working knowledge of computers is desirable. For Scale-I, degrees in fields such as agriculture, veterinary science, IT, management, law, economics or accountancy get preference. Scale-II and Scale-III posts need a relevant degree and banking experience, which differ by post.
IBPS RRB 2026 exam pattern and marking
Office Assistants and Scale-I Officers first take a 45-minute preliminary exam of 80 questions (reasoning plus numerical ability or quantitative aptitude), and must clear both sections. The main exam has 200 questions for 200 marks in two hours: reasoning, computer knowledge, general awareness, English or Hindi, and numerical ability. Scale-II and Scale-III Officers take a single-level exam. Every wrong answer costs a quarter of the question's marks.
Interview, allotment and schedule
Officers face a 100-mark interview after the exam, where the minimum is 40% (35% for SC, ST, OBC and PwBD), and the final score weighs the exam and interview 80:20. Office Assistants are allotted on the basis of the main exam. Allotment to a bank follows merit and your preference.
IBPS plans pre-exam training in November 2026, the prelims in November/December 2026, the mains between December 2026 and February 2027, and officer interviews in January/February 2027.
