How to use it
- Choose your photo or scanned signature. A clear image taken in daylight against a plain light background works best.
- Enter the width and height in pixels and the minimum and maximum size in KB from your notice. Leave width and height blank to keep the original shape.
- Choose “Crop to fill” to fill the frame, or “Fit inside” to keep the whole image on a white background.
- Tap Resize, check the preview and size, then download the JPEG and upload it to the form.
Where to find the right size
Each recruiting body prints its own photo and signature rules in the notice, usually in the section on how to apply or on uploading documents: the file format, the size range in KB and sometimes the dimensions in pixels or centimetres. The rules differ between bodies and sometimes between years, so this tool has no built-in sizes. Copy the numbers from your notice.
KB and centimetres
The tool counts 1 KB as 1,024 bytes, as application portals do. If your notice gives the size in centimetres, 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm is about 276 × 354 pixels at 200 dots per inch; most portals check only the pixel size and file size.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing happens inside your browser. The photo does not leave your device, and it is gone when you close the page.
The file is still under the minimum KB. What should I do?
A small image compresses to a small file. Enter a larger width and height if your notice allows it, or start from a sharper original photo.
Which format does it save in?
JPEG (.jpg), which almost every government application portal accepts for photos and signatures.
How should I scan my signature?
Sign with a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper, photograph it in good light, then use “Crop to fill” with the dimensions from your notice.
